Sir, lot of money is being pumped by Govt through panchayats for development of villages. But checks and balances on the system is lacking. Quality of works is generallt pathetically poor and there being no quality and cost audit. It seems that Govt remains interested in keeping the Panchayat functionaries happy and that is the only goal. System of performance audit must be introduced and responsibilities fixed. Public money must be spent judiciously for durable outputs. Thanks Sir
